AlpHouse focuses its activity on pilot regions and their special situation. These regions, sized approximately700-1000 sqkm, are spread over four alpine countries. They have been chosen according to their geographic situation. In each pilot region one or two pilot communities are selected as cooperation partners and are subject to an in-depth analysis. Single buildings will be designated for pilot renovations. In this way the renewal of the alpine building stock will be integrated into local and regional development perspectives, and the comprehensive AlpHouse approach to renovations will be practically tested. Elements that prove successful will be made available for all regions of the Alpine Space.
